Nothing Phone (1) issues: design flaw, replacement error reported by users

Highlights
  • Nothing Phone (1)’s first public sale went live on July 21st at 7 pm.
  • Nothing Phone (1) owners are complaining about flaws in the design of the unit they received.
  • The users are also unable to place a replacement request for the faulty unit.

Last week, Nothing Phone (1)‘s first public sale went live where excited buyers were able to place an order without any requirement for a pre-order pass. While some users saw long shipment days, few quickly got their hands on the unit. Soon after, users started complaining about flaws in the unit design they received and issues with requesting a replacement for the same. Previously, we saw users complaining about the green tint on the screen, and a black dot near the punch hole witnessed on the Nothing Phone (1)’s display. Now, the company has to deal with new troubles in the design on the Nothing Phone (1)’s rear panel.

Nothing Phone (1) design issues

A user reported an issue on Twitter, citing an identical flaw in the design. Meanwhile, we also ordered a Nothing Phone (1) black colour variant and, after unboxing the Phone (1), saw a flaw in the design. In both cases, the unique rear design of Nothing Phone (1) has an alignment issue with the wire tape. On requesting a replacement request, we witnessed an issue while proceeding with the same, with Flipkart reporting an error in taking a return/replacement request. Taking matters to Twitter, we addressed the issue to Flipkart and Nothing.
