Xiaomi will stop supporting these Redmi and Mi smartphones

Highlights
  • Xiaomi has added 10 additional devices to its end of support (EOS) list.
  • The list includes Redmi, Redmi Note, Mi phones, and Mi tablets.
  • None of these ten devices received MIUI 13.

Xiaomi has ended up supporting a slew of Redmi and Mi phones. This week, Xiaomi added 10 additional devices to its end of support (EOS) list, indicating that the devices will no longer get firmware or software upgrades from the company. Xiaomi hasn’t been very consistent with its device update cycles, as the company released one or two Android updates for each handset. Xiaomi’s new EOS lineup comprises phones and tablets that are more than two years old.

Xiaomi has a rapid device upgrade cycle, forcing the brand to add more devices to its EOS list than any smartphone manufacturer. This week’s EOS list has several popular Redmi, Redmi Note, Mi phones, and Mi tablets. Let’s have a look.

Xiaomi EOS list

  1. Redmi K20
  2. Redmi Note 7
  3. Redmi Note 7S
  4. Redmi Note 7 Pro
  5. Redmi 7
  6. Redmi Y3
  7. Mi Pad 4
  8. Mi Pad 4 Plus
  9. Mi Play
  10. Mi 9 SE

Redmi K20, which debuted more than three years ago, is undoubtedly the most popular of these ten handsets on the list. Xiaomi’s Mi Pad 4 was the company’s last tablet before re-entering the market this year with the Xiaomi Pad 5.

Because most Xiaomi phones are eligible for two Android versions, none of these ten devices received MIUI 13. Xiaomi follows an update cycle of two years of Android software for its devices, and since all the gears on the list debuted over two years ago, none of them supports the latest MIUI 13.
