PlayStation Plus subscription plans: Price in India, Essential vs Extra vs Premium vs Deluxe tiers, games, and more
Sony’s much-anticipated PlayStation Plus tier subscription service, codenamed Spartacus, is now official. Sony has announced that PlayStation Plus and PlayStation Now will be merged together, and the service will come with a library of games and cloud gaming access. While it was considered to be Xbox Game Pass competitor, PlayStation Plus isn’t exactly the same as Game Pass. For instance, PlayStation Plus will not offer day-one access to first-party games, similar to Xbox Game Pass. That being said, PlayStation has an impressive collection of exclusives that will be part of the new service. The new PlayStation Plus tiers are explained below:
PlayStation Plus subscription plans
PlayStation Plus will come in tiers like Essential, Extra, Premium, and Deluxe. PS Plus Essential will offer two monthly games, exclusive discounts, online multiplayer access, and cloud storage for game save files, just like the existing PS Plus subscription. Meanwhile, Extra, Premium, and Deluxe tiers will let you access up to 740 games. Here’s all you need to know about the new PS Plus tiers:
PlayStation Plus Essential
PlayStation Plus Essential is basically the same as the current PlayStation Plus subscription that offers two monthly games, cloud storage for game save files, exclusive discounts, and online multiplayer access. The price of PlayStation Plus Essential in India will be the same as the existing PlayStation Plus subscription.

- 12 months – Rs 2,999
PlayStation Plus Extra
PlayStation Plus Extra will offer all the benefits of Essential along with up to 400 downloadable PS4 and PS5 games. Since this tier has additional benefits over Essential, PlayStation Plus Extra will be priced comparatively higher. The official Indian pricing for PlayStation Plus Extra isn’t announced yet, but the speculated pricing is out.

PlayStation Plus Premium
PlayStation Plus Premium provides all the benefits of Essential and Extra tiers as well as up to 340 additional games and time-limited game trials. The 340 games will include PS3 games via cloud streaming and PlayStation, PS2, PS4, and PSP games that will be available to download and stream. Cloud streaming will be available in regions where PS Now is currently available, which unfortunately doesn’t include India.
PlayStation Plus Deluxe
PlayStation Plus Deluxe will be an alternative to PlayStation Plus Premium in regions that don’t have PS Now. PlayStation Plus Deluxe tier will come with downloadable PlayStation, PS2, and PSP games, time-limited game trials, as well as benefits from Essential and Extra tiers.

PlayStation Plus games
While speaking on the Official PlayStation Podcast, PlayStation boss Jim Ryan that “all the big names” are present in the PS Plus games line-up. Ryan said (via VGC), “We have big publishers, we have small indie publishers. We have over 200 partners working with us to put their content into PlayStation Plus, so the line-up is going to be really strong.” That being said, Sony has now announced several titles that include PS5 games, PS4 games, classic games, remasters, and time-limited game trials from first-party as well as third-party studios. PlayStation Plus Essential, Extra, Deluxe launch date
Sony will launch the new PlayStation Plus services in a phased regional manner. In June 2022, the service will begin rolling out in various markets in Asia, followed by North America and Europe, and then across the globe. PlayStation Plus Essential, Extra, Deluxe tiers will launch in India on June 22, 2022.
