Vivo X Fold launched with 2K AMOLED foldable display, Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, 12GB RAM: price, specs
Vivo’s first foldable smartphone, the Vivo X Fold, was launched in China on April 12th, alongside the Vivo X Note and Vivo Pad. The phone has specifications comparable to a flagship device, including Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, 2K AMOLED foldable display, 50MP quad-camera and a similar screen estate to the Samsung Galaxy Z fold series. The quad-camera setup of Vivo X Fold features a Zeiss sensor. The company hasn’t yet mentioned any global release date at the launch event.
Vivo’s parent company BBK group is loading its foldable phones arsenal to compete with Samsung’s foldable series offering. The OPPO Find N debuted last year, and a OnePlus foldable phone is also in the works. Let’s take a look at what the Vivo X Fold has in store for us.
Vivo X Fold price, availability
Vivo X Fold price starts at CNY 8,999 (Approx. Rs 1.07 lac) for the 12GB RAM/256GB storage unit and CNY 9,999 (Approx. Rs 1.19 lac) for the 12GB RAM/512GB model. It comes in black, grey and blue colour options. The Vivo X Fold is currently exclusive to China and the company has not announced any global launch date yet.

Vivo X Fold comes with a 6.53-inch outer display and an 8.03-inch LTPO2 AMOLED E5 inner screen when unfolded. Both displays are 120Hz OLED panels, but the outer screen isn’t LTPO. Both screens come with an in-display fingerprint scanner each. The 6.53-inch display supports Full-HD+ resolution and the 8.03-inch display supports Quad-HD+ resolution.

Powering the handset is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset paired with 12GB RAM and 256GB/512GB UFS 3.1 storage. Vivo X Fold packs a 4,600mAh battery that supports 66W fast wired charging, 50W wireless charging and 10W reverse charging. It boots Android-based Origin skin out of the box.
Moving to the cameras, the Vivo X Fold has a quad-camera setup, including a 50MP f/1.8 Samsung GN5 primary camera that supports OIS, a 48MP f/2.2 ultrawide lens with 114-degree FOV, a 12MP f/2.4 IMX663 telephoto sensor and an 8MP 5x periscope zoom camera with 60x digital zoom. There are two selfie shooters, one on the outside and one on the inside, with 16MP resolution embedded inside hole punch cut-outs.
