  • The brand is using the hashtag #WhoWatchesTV to promote the TV

Noted smartphone and laptop brand, ASUS, is gearing up to launch its first OLED TV in India on March 3rd. This comes after the brand launched OLED laptops in the country last year. “The new age of ASUS OLED TV is here & is your perfect companion to #WowTheWorld. TV is never going to be the same again,” said ASUS in a statement. Interestingly, the brand is using the hashtag #WhoWatchesTV which narrates the bond every Indian household has with television. It also emphasises the importance of redefining the TV space by offering a more portable way of watching TV, from anywhere in the globe.

However, ASUS hasn’t mentioned anything about the hardware specifications or talked about the design. Since this is the first time we’re hearing about the ASUS-branded TVs, we will only know the details when it’s launched the day after tomorrow. There are chances the TV will arrive in multiple models and will be placed in different price points to cater to a wide range of audiences.

Some of the best OLED TVs come from Samsung, Sony, and LG, and it looks like ASUS is set to take them on with its own lineup of OLED TVs soon. Smartphone brands like Xiaomi and Realme also offer smart TVs at affordable prices. ASUS might look to price its TVs aggressively to take on its Chinese rivals as well. We speculate the ASUS OLED TV will run Android OS and will have support for most popular OTT apps like Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+ Hotstar, YouTube, Zee5, and others. The TV should also have support for Google Play Store to install apps. It should be interesting to see how aggressive ASUS will be in terms of pricing considering the competition is fierce in the TV segment.
