Rockstar has revealed the patch notes for the GTA Trilogy 1.04 update that is now live for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, and Switch. The new update fixes over 100 issues across GTA 3 – The Definitive Edition, GTA Vice City – The Definitive Edition, and GTA San Andreas – The Definitive Edition. This suggests Rockstar had launch the remastered trilogy months before it was ready, and charged full price for it. The 1.04 update fixes several clipping and texture issues encountered by players. It also enhances the first-person camera view while CJ is in certain vehicles.
According to Rockstar Intel, the download sizes for this update are 18.5GB for San Andreas, 8.9GB for Vice City, and 4.18GB for GTA 3 on PC. Meanwhile, PlayStation players can expect the download sizes to be 14.9GB for San Andreas, 7.8Gb for Vice City, and 3.5GB on GTA 3. Finally, Xbox players may find the download sizes to be 16.5GB for San Andreas, 7.3GB for Vice City, and 3.8GB for GTA 3. Hopefully, the GTA Trilogy will offer a much better experience after the update.
Despite a rocky launch, GTA Trilogy is considered as a success by Rockstar‘s parent company, Take-Two. Unofficially, the game could have sold almost 10 million copies across all platforms. In an earnings release, Take-Two claims that GTA Trilogy significantly exceeded its commercial expectations, but didn’t provide any sales numbers. The company’s CEO Straus Zelnick acknowledged the quality issues in GTA Trilogy and he believes this will be an “isolated case.” Rockstar is also working on a mobile version of the GTA Trilogy that is set to launch in the first half of 2022. Besides, the developer has confirmed that GTA 6 is in development, with more announcements coming soon.
