Before the end of 2021, Xiaomi launched its latest flagship offering, the Xiaomi 12 series, in China. The lineup includes the Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12X, and the Xiaomi 12 Pro. The series has been tipped to make its Indian debut by early April 2022. Previously, the Xiaomi 12 global variant was also spotted on Geekbench running on Android 12. Now, a new leak has surfaced online that suggests a Xiaomi 12 mini could be at work. Tipster @Shadow_Leak took it to Twitter to share a possible render of the Xiaomi 12 mini. The render reveals the rear design of the alleged Xiaomi 12 mini. Let’s have a look.

The render shows that the Xiaomi 12 mini comes with a triple camera setup at the rear paired with a vertical LED flash and Xiaomi branding. The camera setup houses a main primary sensor, which is significantly larger than the other two cameras. The Xiaomi 12 and 12X come with a 6.28-inch display, while the Pro variant comes with a 6.73-inch display. As the name suggests, the Xiaomi 12 mini will be a compact version of the flagship model and is likely to be under 6-inch. However, the leak’s legitimacy is still questionable, as there is no confirmation of the device. So, we suggest you take it with a pinch of salt.

If the leak is to be believed, Xiaomi will enter the flagship compact smartphone segment and will compete with Apple’s iPhone 13 mini with a 5.4-inch display. Separately, rumour mills suggest, Samsung is also preparing a more compact version of its Galaxy S22 with a 6.1-inch display. It will be interesting to see the companies battle for the best compact flagship smartphone offering.
