Tata Nexon 2022 spotted on road: expected to offer larger battery, more range
Tata Nexon EV SUV was launched in 2020 and has been the best selling EV car in the market. The Tata Nexon 2020 offers a 30.2 kWh battery, and the company claims a driving range of 312 kilometres. Now, a fully disguised test model of the Tata Nexon EV has been spotted, suggesting an upgraded model is in work. Previously, a Delhi RTO document revealed a more powerful Tata Nexon rated at 136PS received approval. Another report suggests new Nexon could pack a larger 40kWh battery.
Tata Nexon 2022 features
The current Tata Nexon packs a 30.2 kWh battery-powered by Ziptron EV powertrain technology. The results output of 127 bhp and 245 Nm of torque. The new Nexon is said to be more power-packed with a larger 40kWh battery.
Tata Nexon is famous for its safety features. The safety kit will include dual front bags, ABS, corning stability control, and ISOFIX child seat anchors.
The cabin is said to remain the same with existing features. It is likely to come with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto; automatic AC, auto LED headlights, electric sunroof, auto climate control, and a rear camera parking.
Tata Nexon 2022 price and launch timeline
The new Nexon is said to be sold alongside the current 30.2kWh variant. Tata Nexon 2022 is likely to launch in the first half of 2022. The 2022 Nexon EV, with all the upgrades, especially with a bigger battery, is expected to retail at a price tag of Rs 17 lakh to Rs 18.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
The current Tata Nexon undercut its rivals, MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona electric, both costlier than the Nexon. The current Tata Nexon also occupies around 60 percent of the market shares in the EV segment. Tata Nexon 2022 will surely dominate the electric SUV segment with the aggressive retail value.
