Probable OnePlus 10 Ultra design revealed through patent images
OnePlus 10 Pro is a flagship that hasn’t excited many in a way that OnePlus flagships usually do. Released earlier this month, the handset is an expected upgrade to the OnePlus 9 Pro from last year. It comes with a minute design change on the back, slightly faster 80W fast charging, and the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen1. Perhaps this could be the reason for the OnePlus 10 Ultra rumours in recent times. Now, a Twitter user @TechInsiderBlog has discovered patent images of a OnePlus smartphone, which is believed to be the OnePlus 10 Ultra. The images show one of the rear sensors is a periscope lens and there seems to be a tiny display on the back.
Like with most patents, there’s no way to tell whether OnePlus will bring a commercial phone with the same design. But if it makes its way, it could be dubbed as the OnePlus 10 Ultra. As of now, the handset is said to come with the same Snapdragon 8 Gen1 chipset built by TSMC instead of Samsung that is reportedly causing heating and throttling issues. The OnePlus 10 Ultra is expected to debut in the second half of the year and could get improved camera hardware.
Separately, OnePlus phones started with an aim to deliver flagships that are affordable. However, the motive drifted in the past couple of years. But now it seems the brands want to return to the roots, probably in a move to gain more user base. According to noted tipster, Digital Chat Station OnePlus is said to be working on a range of OnePlus smartphones that are aimed at offering high performance and gaming-oriented and these will be priced affordably. Reports suggest the phones in the series will cost from $315 to $475. But the prices will be higher in global and Indian markets and they are unlikely to be as powerful as other flagships. So we can speculate they could be premium mid-range offerings at best.
Digital Chat Station claims the phones in the series will have the basics of flagship chipsets and flat display panels. However, details regarding the chipsets are unknown at the moment. Additionally, we can speculate the phones may miss out on features like wireless charging, IP rating, and others to reduce the price. We should know more details about the phones soon.
