Black Shark is gearing to launch its Black Shark 5 series. The lineup will include a vanilla Black Shark 5 and Black Shark 5 Pro. A Chinese tipster has shared some key specifications of the Black Shark 5 ahead of the official announcement. The device has recently received China’s MIIT certification with model number KTUS-A0. The leak indicates Black Shark 5 will come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ SoC, 120Hz AMOLED display, and a 4,600mAh battery with support for 120W fast charging. Rumour mill has it that Tencent will soon acquire the Black Shark brand. Let’s look at what the Black Shark 5 has in store for us.

According to the tipster, Black Shark 5 will be powered with Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 plus processor. It will pack a Samsung E4 AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate support. The handset will be equipped with a 4,600mAh battery with support for 120W fast charging. It will boot Android 12 based JOYUI out of the box.
To recall, Black Shark 4S Pro debuted in China on October 13th, 2021, also has Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 plus SoC, a 6.6-inch AMOLED display with 144Hz refresh rate, and a 4,500mAh battery that supports 120W fast charging. It seems like Black Shark 5 may carry some specs from the Black Shark 4S Pro.
As for the Black Shark 5 Pro, the device is said to pack a 144hz QHD+ AMOLED display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, and a 5,000mAh battery with 120W fast charging support. The handset is likely to run Android 12 based JOYUI out of the box.
Black Shark is yet to tease the Black Shark 5 series, but we expect to hear more about it soon.
