Motorola on Friday launched the Moto G51 5G in India and the device will exclusively sell via Flipkart. Motorola G51 will join the recently launched Moto G31 and will come under Motorola’s Moto G line of products. The Moto G51 5G is one of the many devices that Motorola is expected to launch in various markets and slots in above the Moto G31. Moto G51 5G comes is also the country’s first device to be running on the Snapdragon 480+ chipset from Qualcomm. The chipset enables the Moto G51 to be 5G capable at a value-for-money price point and will support 12 global 5G bands. 

Moto G51 5G price in India, availability

Moto G51 5G is available with a sole 4GB+64GB variant and carries an introductory sticker price of Rs 14,999. Motorola will be selling the Moto G51 5G via Flipkart and is likely to be available with other offers on the e-commerce website. 

Moto G51 5G specifications 

Moto G51 5G packs in a 6.8inch FHD+ IPS LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate. The display that obeys a 20:9 aspect ratio houses the front 13MP (f/2.2) camera in a hole punch cut out at the top centre. The Moto G51 gets a triple camera setup at the back with a 50MP (f/1.8) main camera sensor, 8MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide camera, a 2MP (f/2.4) depth sensor, and an LED flash. 

Under the hood, the Moto G51 5G features a Snapdragon 480+ chipset from Qualcomm. The 5G capable chipset enables the Moto G51 to feature 12 global 5G bands. The processor features a Kyro 460 CPU and a Kyro 619 GPU. The device pairs up the processing unit with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The storage will be expandable via a microSD card. The Moto G51 will draw power from a 5,000mAh battery and will fast charge at 20W. Connectivity features include 5G SA/ NSA, 4G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, GLONASS, NFC, and USB Type-C charging. 

Design-wise the Moto G51 5G follows typical Motorola design language and will be available in two colour options – Indigo Blue and Bright Silver. The Moto G51 5G also brings in an IP 52 certification, a 3.5mm audio jack, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security, bottom-firing speakers, and dual microphones. The device packs all this in a body that weighs in at 208 grams and measures 170 x 77 x 9 mm in dimensions. Motorola will ship the device with Android 11 out of the box. Motorola promises updates to Android 12 and also two years of software support. Motorola also boasts of ThinkShield for Mobile security technology on the Moto G51 5G.
