Krafton temporarily disables Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) Virus Infection mode
Krafton has disabled the recently added Virus Infection mode in Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI). The game mode was added alongside the Payload 2.0 mode in November 2021. The Virus Infection mode is BGMI’s version of the Call of Duty Zombies experience. The game mode was disabled yesterday and Krafton hasn’t given any specific reason for doing so. It’s quite possible that players may have found a game-breaking bug or an exploit that gives free items in BGMI’s Virus Infection mode. However, since Krafton hasn’t confirmed anything yet, we can’t say for sure.
In an official announcement, Krafton said, “We have identified an issue when playing Virus Infection Mode, and will take down the mode temporarily at Dec 9, 14:50 PM. We will fix the problem as soon as possible, and inform you immediately when fixed. We apologize for the inconvenience.” As previously mentioned, Krafton has not specified which issue led to Virus Infection mode being disabled in BGMI. That being said, the developer is working on fixing the issue and the game mode should be back soon. Krafton will make an announcement when the Virus Infection mode is ready to come back.

BGMI’s Virus Infection mode features three rounds, where players need to eliminate hordes of zombies. Players who are attacked by zombies get infected and they can hunt down surviving players. Players, as well as zombies, can also pick up boosters to gain abilities. The infected player who infects other players to reach level 3 becomes the Zombie King, and the last 3 surviving players emerge as Heroes.
