OnePlus seems to be readying the Nord N20 5G phone as a successor to the Nord N10 from last year. It will be an affordable mid-range offering, and now 91mobiles exclusively brings to you the renders and specifications in association with @OnLeaks aka Steve Hemmerstoffer. The phone has a flat display, punch-hole cutout for the selfie snapper, triple camera lenses arranged separately, and a boxy design. The OnePlus Nord N20 5G frame, in particular, marks a notable departure from the design we saw in its predecessor. Let’s take a look at the OnePlus Nord N20 5G specifications and design that we have learnt.

OnePlus Nord N20 5G design

OnePlus Nord N20 5G design is quite unique in its own way when compared to other phones by the brand. It has a flat frame with chamfered edges surrounding the display, similar to the iPhones from the last couple of years. This is unlike the 2.5D curved design that we saw in the Nord N10 5G. The power button is on the right spine, while the volume rocker as well as the SIM card housing are on the left edge. The 3.5mm audio jack, USB Type-C, microphone and speaker grille are at the bottom. The top is home to another microphone for noise cancellation.

On the front, there is a punch-hole cutout on the top-left corner for the selfie snapper and a sizeable bottom bezel. On the back, you can see three sensors, with two big sensors and one relatively smaller in size. These are accompanied by a LED flash. Also on the back panel is the OnePlus logo and branding. The phone can be seen in Grey and Purple colour options in the renders.

OnePlus Nord N20 5G specifications (expected)

  • 6.43-inch AMOLED display
  • In-display fingerprint sensor
  • Snapdragon 695 5G SoC
  • 48MP + 2MP + 2MP rear cameras
  • 16MP selfie sensor
  • 159.8 x 73.1 x 7.7mm (9.6mm thickness including camera protrusion)

According to OnLeaks, the OnePlus Nord N20 5G specifications will include a 6.43-inch display with a flat design (i.e. no curved display). The smartphone will have an in-display fingerprint sensor, meaning the screen will be AMOLED. OnLeaks says the phone will get its power from the recently launched Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G chipset.

As for the cameras, the OnePlus Nord N20 5G will sport a 48MP primary sensor, a 2MP lens, and a 2MP third sensor. It will get a 16MP snapper on the front for selfies and video chats. The phone will measure 159.8 x 73.1 x 7.7mm (9.6mm including protruding rear cameras), according to OnLeaks.

In comparison, the OnePlus Nord N10 5G came with a slightly larger 6.49-inch display but it was an LCD panel. The phone shipped with the Snapdragon 690 SoC with 5G network connectivity. The Nord N10 came with quad-cameras on the back, led by a 64MP primary sensor, a 119-degree ultra-wide lens, a dedicated macro lens, and a monochrome lens. It had a 16MP selfie snapper on the front too. The Nord N20 5G has received upgrades with regards to the chipset, for now. We should learn more details soon.

Interestingly, OnLeaks tells us while he’s certain these are indeed the OnePlus Nord N20 5G renders, there’s a small chance the phone might be the OnePlus Nord CE2 5G instead. Whichever phone it is, we know budget OnePlus phones are on the way soon as they have received IMDA and BIS certifications, so the wait may not be too long. These smartphones are separate from the OnePlus 10 series of flagship handsets the company is also working on. While the exact launch date is still not confirmed, we can safely speculate it may happen shortly.
