Darwin launches three new electric scooters in India, prices start from Rs 68,000
Electric vehicles are steadily growing in numbers in India and Darwin Platform Group of Companies has joined the likes of TVS and Ola in introducing new electric scooters. The company launched the Darwin D5, Darwin D7, and Darwin D14 electric scooters in the country this week. These three new electric scooters are targeted towards new-age buyers and were rightly unveiled by World Amateur Boxing champion MC Mary Kom. The Darwin D5, D7, and D14 join the long and ever-growing list of electric two-wheelers currently on sale in India. The Darwin D5 has been priced at Rs 68,000, Darwin D7 at Rs 73,000, and the Darwin D14 costs Rs 77,000. Each scooter has a claimed range of 70-120km on a single charge.
Darwin D5, D7, and D14 details
The Darwin D5, D7, and D14 scooters have been introduced by Darwin Platform Group of Companies at a price of Rs 68,000, Rs 73,000, and Rs 77,000 respectively. These scooters enter a competitive market with increasing competition. Darwin however intends to strike some chords with the younger crowds that are evident from the electric scooters’ edgy and sharp styling. Darwin also roped in World Amateur Boxing Champion MC Mary Kom for the launch of the scooters.
Cutting edge features on these three electric two-wheelers include – keyless entry, regenerative braking, LED display, USB mobile charging port, hazard switch, etc. The Darwin electric scooters pack in all this in a striking-looking design which increases their appeal.
“Darwin EVAT aims to contribute more to this electric revolution. Our EV segment was born with the idea of “Class Leading Products” that also promotes Green Revolution – an Eco-friendly Initiative,” said Raja Roy Choudhury, CEO, DPGC Group.
“We are introducing EVs that are at par with Japanese Standards and have got an international quality certification with Quality Austria Central Asia. The company and group would initially invest nearly Rs 450 Crore in this transformation and is taking a comprehensive approach, ranging from research and development to production of green vehicles, which also includes strategic collaborations and partnerships,” said Saurabh Mohan Saxena, Director, and Head Automobile Business.
