Battlegrounds Mobile India players will need Facebook app to login on Android from November 5th
Krafton has announced some changes for Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) login options for Android users. The game will not allow players to login using the embedded browser on Android phones. Instead, players will need to install the Facebook app from Google Play Store to login with their Facebook account. The login changes will take effect from November 5 and players will be unable to login without installing the Facebook app. Krafton claims that the login changes are due to a policy update regarding the Facebook SDK. The company had given a similar reason while disabling PUBG Mobile data transfer using Facebook accounts.
Krafton has said, “As we have previously informed you on August 31st, logins with Facebook accounts in the embedded browser of Android devices will be disabled in the future, according to the policy update related to the Facebook SDK.” The new changelog shared by Krafton is mentioned below:
[Changes with Facebook accounts]
- Login disabled unless the Facebook App is not installed on the device: November 5
- Target platform: AOS

Fortunately, Battlegrounds Mobile India players who use an iPhone will not be affected by this change. Many BGMI players might be uncomfortable with using the Facebook app as the social networking giant has been in several controversies regarding invasion of privacy, misinformation, hate speech, and accessing on-device data to deliver personalised ads. Facebook’s rebranding to Meta is considered to be done to potentially isolate research and development in the company from the social network.
