OPPO A55 launched in India at Rs 15,490: 50MP camera, 5000mAh battery, and more
OPPO has just launched the OPPO A55 in India at a starting price of Rs 15,490. The newly launched OPPO A55 will be succeeding the OPPO A54 that was launched earlier this year. It is the 4G version of the OPPO A55 5G that went official in January. The OPPO A55 will be available on OPPO India’s official website. The device will later go on sale on October 11th via Amazon India and OPPO’s official website. The OPPO A55 runs on ColorOS 11.1 based on Android 11 out of the box. Ket specs include a 6.51-inch HD+ display, 50MP AI camera and 5000mAh battery which supports 18W fast charging. It is important to note that this is not a 5G phone.
OPPO A55 price in India
The OPPO A55 comes in two variants – 4GB+64GB and 6GB+128GB. The base model is priced at Rs 15,490 while the 6GB RAM model costs Rs 17,490. The 4GB RAM variant will go on sale from October 3rd, while the latter will be available from October 11th via Amazon and retail outlets.
The OPPO A55 is now available for pre-booking. Offers include a flat Rs 3,000 discount on using HDFC Bank Debit / Credit Cards and a 6-month free screen replacement offer will be available on Amazon. OPPO’s e-store will also offer a 10% instant discount with Kotak, Bank Of Baroda and Axis Bank as well as no-cost EMIs for up to 3 months. Various other offers will also be available while purchasing the device offline.
OPPO A55 specifications
The OPPO A55 will be succeeding the OPPO A54 which was launch earlier this year in India. The OPPO A55 will sport a 6.51 inch HD+ (1600 x 720 pixels or 269ppi) 8-bit display. The panel is capable of 60Hz refresh, 120Hz touch sampling rate, 16.7 million colours and 65% NTSC colour gamut. The OPPO A55’s display has a peak brightness of 550 nits under sunlight. Under the hood, the OPPO A55 runs a MediaTek Helio G35 octa-core CPU clocked at up to 2.3GHz and is assisted by an IMG GE8320 GPU clocked at 680 MHz. This processing unit is coupled with up to 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The storage can be expanded up to 256GB via a microSD card and the device also supports USB OTG.
Camera hardware consists of a triple camera set up which includes a 50MP (f/1.8) main camera sensor, a 2MP (f/2.4) macro camera and a 2MP (f/2.4) monochrome sensor complemented by an LED flash. There is autofocus present but no Optical Image Stabilisation. The rear camera setup is capable of shooting 1080p footage at 30fps. On the front, we get a 16MP shooter. The OPPO A55 gets a 5000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging. It also supports dual sim, 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0 and GPS. The OPPO A55 also keeps the 3.5mm headphone jack and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
The OPPO A55 will be available in Starry Black and Rainbow Blue colour options. The OPPO A55 gets a punch-hole cutout for the camera upfront and a rectangular camera housing at back. The device is 8.40mm thick and weighs in at 193grams. The OPPO A55 gets IPX4 certification for splash and dust proofing.
