iPhone SE 3 may feature LCD display, iPhone XR-like design

iPhone SE 3 will likely arrive with an LCD display next year, which would make it the only iPhone in the current lineup to offer an LCD panel. The iPhone SE 2020 did well in India due to its affordable price tag and powerful A13 Bionic chip. Apple intends to build on that success with the introduction of a third-generation model of the iPhone SE, coming in 2022. While the iPhone SE 2 was designed based on the iPhone 8, the upcoming SE could get an iPhone XR-like design.
iPhone SE 3 may look like iPhone XR without Face ID
The iPhone SE 3 is all set to arrive in 2022 and will skip the previous four-year gap between the two iPhone SE models. Chinese media site My Drivers reports that the iPhone SE 3 will come with an LCD display and the design will be based on the iPhone XR. The iPhone SE 3 aka iPhone SE 2022 will likely be the last iPhone to come with an LCD display.
With an iPhone XR-like design, the iPhone SE 3 can be expected to feature a notched display and a curved frame. Newer iPhone flagships, like the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13, come with flat edges. While the iPhone SE 3 could get the notch, it isn’t clear whether Face ID will be supported. As per the report, the fingerprint sensor will be moved to the side, possibly embedded in the power button, as seen on the iPad Air 4.
This comes as a stark departure from the reports that came earlier. It was earlier believed based on rumours that the iPhone SE 3 would continue with the iPhone SE 2 design and a compact 4.7-inch display. However, the new rumours bring in a discrepancy which means any one of the reports proves to be unreliable.
The upcoming iPhone SE 3 will bring 5G support and will get an upgraded processor in the form of the A15 Bionic SoC.
