Meet the 10 most powerful Android smartphones as per Antutu
It’s time to see which of the latest and existing smartphones have managed to scale up the Antutu benchmarking tests globally. It goes without saying that Qualcomm steals the limelight yet again, after all, its SoCs are powering most of the top-end smartphones available in the market right now. As for the latest Antutu benchmark list, you have a couple of new entries and overall, it has brands like Xiaomi, Samsung, Realme, iQOO, and others lining up one after the other. The test chart includes data collected between July 1st to July 31st, 2021. The overall Antutu scores have been mentioned next to the device name below.
Top best-performing flagship phones globally
1. iQOO 7 – 920,936
The iQOO 7 mentioned here is the Snapdragon 888 variant that launched in India as the iQOO 7 Legend. It still continues to be one of the most affordable smartphones to come powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset. After a few months of ranking below the top 2 spot, iQOO 7 is now back to the leadership position, as per the latest Antutu global ranking chart.
As for the device, it is an appealing product, loaded with high-end specs like LPDDR5 RAM, UFS 3.1 storage, and 120W fast charging support. However, buyers of the iQOO 7 Legend in India got it with support for 66W fast charging. Even then, when you look at a phone with the flagship hardware, up to 12GB of RAM, and 120Hz AMOLED display, the stakes are highly in favour of the phone becoming an instant hit among buyers. And the latest Antutu scores vindicate its power-packed nature as well.
2. Realme GT – 816,887
Realme GT is the latest affordable flagship kid on the block. And the Antutu scores reflect its performance, which is quite a big feat, especially when it can beat a device like the ROG Phone 5 and that too by a big margin. Realme GT comes with up to 12GB RAM, supports UFS 3.1 storage technology like the other high-end devices, but where it really becomes appealing is its pricing.
The device is available for Rs 37,999 in India, making it one of the most affordable phones to come with high-end Snapdragon hardware. Besides that, you get a Super AMOLED 120Hz display, 64MP triple rear camera, and a 4,500mAh battery that supports 65W fast charging.
3. ROG Phone 5 – 807,388
Not too long ago, ASUS ROG Phone 5 was leading the Antutu benchmark charts. But now, it has come down to the third position. Still, it continues to be a power-packed workhorse, with a specific focus on gamers with its hardware. It was one of the first to offer an 18GB RAM variant in the market.
This device is all about raw performance, and the test results show that it can still hold its fort among the newbies out there. It does not score high device the design department but it offers gamers an interesting set of accessories, and a device that satiates their appetite.
The ROG Phone 5 comes with a 6.78-inch AMOLED display, and offers support for 144Hz refresh rate which is the highest in the market. You get it with Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset, like other powerful phones right now. But the big highlight of the phone is that you can get it with a mammoth 18GB RAM.
4. OnePlus 9 Pro – 798,549
OnePlus continues to climb the price ladder every year, and with the OnePlus 9 Pro, it has slowly but surely entered the premium club. The 9 Pro also comes powered by Snapdragon 888 chipset which delivers excellent performance for any computing task.
It gets up to 12GB RAM which is becoming the norm with high-end devices in the market these days. But the bigger highlight of the 9 Pro is the Hasselblad-enabled 48MP quad rear cameras that produce improved colour tuning for better images.
To add to that, the phone comes with a 4,500mAh battery that supports 65W wired fast charging, and 50W wireless fast charging. The added bonus is that OnePlus 9 Pro gets IP68 rating which makes it dust and water-resistant. All these features have resulted in the heftier price tag of the device.
5. Mi 11 Ultra – 792,702
It’s called the SuperPhone for good reasons. Xiaomi announced this power-packed flagship phone earlier this year, and surprisingly, it made its way to India as well. The Mi 11 Ultra is a device that has shown us what the brand is capable of, and that it has the capability to challenge the duopoly of brands like Samsung and Apple in the premium arena. Mi 11 Ultra has all the attributes of a top-end device, especially when it uses Snapdragon 888 to offer performance.
The company has offered a unique camera setup on the device that includes a 50MP wide, 48MP periscope telephoto, and 48MP ultrawide sensors. The unique secondary display at the back is a nifty addition that shows innovative thinking. And to top it all, you have 67W fast wired and wireless charging support. So its price tag of Rs 69,999 does seem quite justified.
6. Mi 11 – 786,183
Xiaomi has multiple devices on Antutu’s benchmark list, and unsurprisingly the next onr is another phone from the Mi 11 series. This was the first device to launch with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 flagship chipset from the brand.
Xiaomi decided against launching this phone in India but it is hard to doubt its capability when you get the top-end Snapdragon hardware, along with a large 120Hz AMOLED display, offered with up to 12GB RAM and other premium features that we have become accustomed to as the year has gone by. But yet another Xiaomi phone that has punched above its weight, and beat off competition from known brands.
7. Sony Xperia 1 III 5G – 785,047
Sony has tuned its market approach to focus on select countries. And its mobile business relies on top-end Xperia phones like the 1 III 5G out there. It’s always good to have Sony mixing it with the newbies and the big boys, and its Antutu ranking shows the old horse still has plenty to offer.
In addition to being a premium device, the Xperia 1 III 5G is equipped with a versatile quad rear camera that features Zeiss Optics lenses. The Antutu benchmark results aren’t the only factor making it a compelling choice for buyers. Seeing an Xperia phone on the list is a good thing, despite the fact that one can’t buy it officially in India.
8. Mi 11i – 779,068
Most of us in India recognise the Mi 11i as the Mi 11X Pro, and when you compare both the devices, their features and design, you realise they are the same. Being powered by Snapdragon 888 SoC enables this device to give you top-end performance, and that itself makes it good enough to be part of the Antutu benchmark list. Granted, it’s not the most powerful device out there right now, but coming ahead of the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G itself counts for something.
As for the features, it gets a 108MP triple rear camera, up to 8GB RAM, UFS 3.1 storage, Super AMOLED 120Hz display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. And when you talk about value, Xiaomi is selling the Mi 11X Pro in India for under Rs 40,000 which makes it an appealing option for buyers.
9. Redmi K40 Pro – 777,314
It’s hardly surprising to see Redmi K40 Pro make the cut in the top 10 with Antutu benchmark tests. Another of the Xiaomi phones to come powered by Snapdragon 888 chipset and other attractive features that not only make it powerful but a value for money product as well.
It comes just below the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G in the list, and there is nothing wrong with that. Redmi K40 Pro has played a big role in Xiaomi’s growth as a hard-core premium player, and globally its success has been quite valuable.
10. Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G (Snapdragon) – 772,170
The Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G mentioned here is the one with Snapdragon 888 that sells in the US. And even though most phones launched after it run on the same hardware, the performance results via the Antutu benchmarks show there is a big gulf in the numbers. Having said that, the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G ranks as one of the top devices, at least in terms of the price range, sitting just below the likes of the Apple iPhone 12 series even to this day.
The Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G packs a 6.8-inch AMOLED Quad HD+ display that supports 120Hz dynamic refresh rate and a versatile 108MP quad rear camera, which includes a periscope telephoto sensor, ultrawide sensor, and a telephoto sensor.
