Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 and Galaxy Z Flip3 foldable phones launched with Snapdragon 888, 120Hz displays, and more
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 and Galaxy Z Flip3 phones have been launched officially alongside the Galaxy Buds2 and Galaxy Watch4. This is the first time in years that a Galaxy Note flagship is missing out at the ‘Galaxy Unpacked’ mid-year event but the South Korean giant is making up for it by introducing two foldable phones. Samsung has been a pioneer in the foldable segment and the Galaxy Z Fold3 and Z Flip3 are the world’s first foldable phones with an IP68 rating for water resistance. The former comes with a 4MP under-display camera, which is a first from the company. These bring significant upgrades over their predecessors, including better internal specifications, hinge mechanism, and more colour options. Samsung has launched a special Thom Brown edition of the Fold 3, Flip 3, Galaxy Buds 2, and Galaxy Watch 4. These come in White colour with Red/Blue strips for aesthetics. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 comes in Phantom Black, Phantom Silver, and Phantom Green colour options. The phone will be on sale in August. The Z Flip3 will be available in Cream, Green, Lavender, White, Black, Pink and Gray colours. It will hit stores in August as well.

The phone measures 67.1 X 158.2 X 16.0mm (when folded), 128.1 X 158.2 X 6.4mm (when unfolded), and weighs 271 grams. It is IP68 rated for water resistance.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 is the cheaper foldable phone of the two. It sports a 6.7-inch FHD+ Dynamic 2X AMOLED Infinity Flex display with a 22:9 aspect ratio, HDR10+, 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, 2640X1080 pixels resolution, Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, and 425 PPI (pixels per inch). There’s a 1.9-inch secondary AMOLED screen on the back with 260X 512 pixels resolution and 302 PPI. In comparison, the original Galaxy Z Flip only had a 1.1-inch display on the rear. The Samsung Galaxy measures 72.2 X 86.4 X 17.1-15.9mm (when folded), 72.2 X 166.0 X 6.9mm (when unfolded) and weighs just 183 grams.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 is IP68 rated for water resistance and it is built on Armor Aluminium, which is claimed to be Samsung’s strongest aluminium frame yet.
