Upcoming Samsung mobile phones launching in 2021, according to the rumour mill
The Samsung smartphone business bounced back last year, with the highest-ever shipments. In an attempt to continue the upward trajectory, the South Korean giant has been on a roll this year with back-to-back smartphone launches. It has already announced the flagship Samsung Galaxy S21 series, Galaxy F52, Galaxy M12, and a bunch of other offerings. Rumours are rife that Samsung has lined up a handful of more upcoming mobile phones to launch in 2021 globally as well as in India. The ones that we know so far include Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3, Samsung Galaxy A82 5G, Samsung Galaxy M22, and Samsung Galaxy S21 FE. This article looks at what these upcoming Samsung mobile phones will bring to the table, based on the rumours and leaks on the web.

Upcoming Samsung mobile phones
Samsung Galaxy M22
Samsung Galaxy M22 is rumoured to launch in India in July. The new Samsung mobile phone has received several certifications, ranging from Geekbench to FCC. The phone is believed to be rebranded version of the Samsung Galaxy A22, which has been launched in the country. The Samsung Galaxy M22 specifications are tipped to include MediaTek Helio G80 chipset, 4GB RAM, Android 11 software, and 25W fast charging support. It could also ship with a 90Hz refresh rate display, 5,000mAh battery, and 48MP quad rear cameras.
Samsung Galaxy A02
The Samsung Galaxy A02 launch in India is also imminent. The handset production has begun in India, 91mobiles exclusively reports. The Galaxy A02 Indian variant is believed to be similar to the global model, both in terms of design and specifications. The handset could ship with a V-shaped notch design, with dual camera setup at the back arranged in a vertical module. The Samsung Galaxy A02 could be powered by MediaTek MT6739W7 SoC coupled with PowerVR Rogue GE8100 GPU, up to 3GB RAM and 64GB storage that is further expandable via a microSD card. The handset may sport a 6.5-inch HD+ Infinity-V display with 720 x 1,560 pixels resolution. Moving to optics, the Samsung Galaxy A02 has a dual-camera setup at the back, with a 13MP primary sensor (f/1.9) and a 2MP macro sensor (f/2.4) with LED flash. On the front, it has a 5MP snapper for selfies and video calling. A 5,000mAh battery with 7.75W charging support fuels the phone.
The Samsung Galaxy A02 launch date hasn’t been revealed yet, but its price could be under Rs 10,000. The handset should be available in Denim Black, Denim Blue, Denim Red and Denim Gray colour options.
Samsung Galaxy S21 FE
Samsung Galaxy S21 FE (Fan Edition) is expected to be a watered-down version of the Galaxy S21 that was launched earlier this year. The upcoming Samsung smartphone is likely to ship with Snapdragon 888 SoC paired with 6GB RAM. The handset could come pre-loaded with Android 11-based OneUI 3.0 out of the box and house a 4,500mAh battery. As for the design, the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE is said to flaunt a centre-aligned punch-hole camera and a rear camera module that curves along the edges. The handset is also tipped to launch in White, Light Violet, Light Green, and Gray colour options. The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE launch is expected in Q4.
Samsung Galaxy A82 5G
The Samsung Galaxy A82 5G is said to be the global version of Galaxy Quantum 2, which was launched in Korea back in April. The handset’s specifications could be as follows: a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with QHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate, Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ SoC, 6GB RAM, 128GB storage, One UI 3.1 with Android 11, 64MP quad rear camera setup, and a 10MP selfie camera. Samsung Galaxy A82 5G is likely to be driven by a 4,500mAh battery with 25W fast charging. The Samsung Galaxy A82 may also sport stereo speakers and a fingerprint scanner. As the name suggests, the phone will have 5G connectivity. Other connectivity options could include a USB Type-C port.
Samsung Galaxy M62 5G
Samsung Galaxy M62 5G India launch is just around the corner as the smartphone has allegedly received BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) certification. The handset is believed to be a rebranded version of the Galaxy F62 that launched in India back in February. To recall, the Galaxy F62 comes with a 7,000mAh battery, 64MP quad-cameras, and an sAMOLED display. That said, the M62 is expected to be a 5G offering, which means we can expect a different chipset instead of Exynos 9825 4G SoC on the Samsung Galaxy F62.
Samsung Galaxy A03s
The Galaxy A03s is another upcoming smartphone from Samsung’s stable. The handset is expected to be a successor to last year’s affordable offering Samsung Galaxy A02s. 91mobiles exclusively reported key Samsung Galaxy A03s specs and design recently. The phone looks very similar to the Galaxy A02s, with a V-shape notch display and a quad-camera setup in a rectangular module at the back. However, there are two significant changes. The Galaxy A03s comes with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and a USB Type-C port instead of micro USB. The Samsung Galaxy A03s is also said to sport a 3.5mm headphone jack, a 6.5-inch display, 5MP selfie camera, and 13MP + 2MP + 2MP triple rear cameras. Currently, there is no information regarding the Galaxy A03s launch date and price.
Samsung Galaxy F42 5G
Samsung Galaxy F42 5G is also on the cards. This again is going to be a rebranded smartphone. Rumours are rife that Samsung Galaxy F42 5G may share its traits with Galaxy M42 5G. The latter was launched back in April in India with a 6.6-inch HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-U display and Snapdragon 750G SoC ticking at its core. The phone runs on Android 11 OS with OneUI 3.1 custom skin on top and packs a 5,000mAh battery with 15W fast-charging support fuels the phone. The Samsung Galaxy M42 has a quad-camera setup at the back with a 48MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, a 5MP depth sensor, and a 5MP macro lens. There is a 20MP snapper on the front for selfies and video chats and an in-display fingerprint sensor for security. The Samsung Galaxy M42 5G price in India starts at Rs 21,999.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 will be a follow-up of last year’s Galaxy Z Fold2, a report suggests. The handset is likely to tout the same book-like formfactor, with a large display that folds horizontally on the inside and a cover display, as its predecessor. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 specifications remain unknown at the moment, but we are speculating it to be a 5G offering with flagship chipset ticking at its core. Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 is another foldable smartphone the South Korean manufacturer has reportedly been working on. It’s said to be dubbed as Z Flip 3, since the Galaxy Z Flip 5G is considered a second-generation Galaxy Z Flip. The upcoming Samsung mobile phone may come in 4G and 5G versions. Reports suggest that Samsung will position the new Z Flip as a budget flagship that will help the brand to expand its market share in the new category. Other details such as Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 specifications and design remain under the wraps at the moment. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 launch date is still being finalised.
Other Samsung smartphones in development
Besides the phones mentioned above, Samsung is silently working on a double-folding phone as well. This could be the third foldable smartphone from Samsung in 2021. The upcoming Samsung mobile phone list also include Samsung Galaxy M52, and Galaxy A52 5G. The A52 5G is expected to be a slightly better chipset version of the 4G model that was launched earlier this year, while Samsung Galaxy M52 is rumoured to be rebadged A42.
