The chipmaker recently announced the Snapdragon 870 which is dubbed as the successor to the Snapdragon 865+ chipset from 2020. Qualcomm and TSMC basically managed to reinvent the older SoC to produce better performance with the 7nm architecture board. We have already started seeing a number of Snapdragon 870 phones in the market from brands like Xiaomi, iQOO, Vivo, and OnePlus. Snapdragon 870 SoC specs

As we mentioned earlier, Snapdragon 870 is the successor or the re-engineered version of the Snapdragon 865+ SoC. It uses the same Cortex A77 cores that run the Kryo 585 Prime and Gold CPUs for performance, and the Cortex A55 cores with Kryo 585 Silver CPUs for efficiency. The use of older chipset and GPU means the performance gains are not high. But you can definitely expect some improvement over the Snapdragon 865+ even with just a 3.2 percent increase in clock speed the most notable addition. Mi 11X from Xiaomi is the first Snapdragon 870 phone to launch in India for under Rs 30,000. You can also consider going for the 8GB RAM model that costs Rs 31,999. Mi 11X features a 6.67-inch E4 AMOLED display with support for 120Hz refresh rate. The device packs a 4,520mAh battery with 33W fast charging. As for optics, Mi 11X gets a triple rear camera setup that comprises of 48MP sensor, 8MP ultra-wide sensor and a 5MP macro sensor. While on the front, you get a 20MP selfie camera.

2. iQOO 7

iQOO 7 is the second device to give you a Snapdragon 870 SoC for under Rs 35,000 in the market. This device sports a 6.62-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ and 1300 nits brightness. You can get the base variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. The built-in Expanded RAM technology allows you to use some part of the storage to expand the RAM.

The Snapdragon 870 phones run on Funtouch OS based on Android 11 OS and have an in-display fingerprint sensor. The X60 and X60 Pro feature the same 6.56-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate.

On the imaging front, Vivo X60 and X60 Pro get a triple camera system at the back. This includes a 48MP primary sensor with OIS + 13MP sensor and another 13MP sensor. The phone is available with 256GB UFS 3.1 internal storage and runs on Android 11-based OxygenOS custom version.

Connectivity features on the device are dual-band Wi-Fi, 5G, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, and USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer.
