Truecaller adds COVID Hospital Directory to help users find beds in hospitals
Truecaller has stepped forward to help the citizens of India and launched a new COVID Hospital Directory on their mobile app. The Covid-19 pandemic in India has worsened over the last few weeks as we were hit with the second wave of infections and a collapse of the healthcare system. There has been a nationwide shortage of oxygen, ventilators, hospital beds, and even medicines and vaccines, which has hit the country in the worst ways imaginable. With hospitals running out of beds and oxygen and everyone utilising social media to find things for the affected, Truecaller’s COVID Hospital Directory should help users find beds in designated Covid hospitals across India.
Truecaller COVID Hospital Directory
The COVID Hospital Directory is currently live on the Truecaller app and provides addresses and phone numbers of designated COVID-19 hospitals across the country. The numbers and addresses are sourced from government databases and you can call the hospital or visit the premises to enquire about beds.
As of now, this feature is available for beta users of the app, but it should be rolling out to the official version soon. It’s also currently only working on the Android app, and we’re not sure when it’ll be available on iOS.
You can access the directory from the main menu or via the Dialler. Tap on the Directory that’s located on the top left corner of the dialler and you will see a list of different cities. Select the city you’re in and a list of hospitals will show up along with contact details. Hopefully, this will help users find beds or other requirements.
