Samsung Galaxy S20 FE Exynos model could be discontinued soon
The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE was originally launched last year in India with the Exynos 990 chipset. However, Samsung also released a 5G variant of the phone, which comes equipped with a faster and more efficient Snapdragon 865 chipset. The South Korean giant had launched only the Exynos 990 variant in India back then but has recently also brought the 5G version with the Snapdragon 865 processor. Now, a tipster has stated that Samsung may stop production of the Galaxy S20 FE Exynos variant and replace it with a model that features the Snapdragon 865+ SoC.
Galaxy S20 FE will release the Snapdragon 865+ version, and Exynos990 stops production.

Samsung Galaxy S20 FE Snapdragon 865+ variant
Early reviews of the Galaxy S20 FE had revealed that the 5G variant with Snapdragon 865 was a much better device than the model that used the Exynos 990 SoC. Not only was it faster, but it also offers better battery life, and so on. It was only recently that Samsung brought the better Snapdragon 865 variant of the Galaxy S20 FE to India. The phone is being sold in India at an introductory price of Rs 47,999.
Shutting down production of the Exynos 990 variant is probably a good idea then. At least that’s what tipster Ice Universe tweeted recently, saying that Samsung will replace the Exynos 990 model with a new variant that uses the Snapdragon 865+ processor. If this happens, then Samsung may only launch this variant in certain regions, as India already has a similarly equipped Galaxy S20 FE 5G on sale.
As always, you must take this report with a pinch of salt, as Samsung hasn’t given us any information regarding Galaxy S20 FE production or a new S20 FE with Snapdragon 865+ chipset. However, a leaked Samsung roadmap for 2021 did reveal a Galaxy S21 FE unpacked event. It is possible that the company may also launch the new S20 FE variant during this event.
