Realme 8 and Realme 8 Pro phones were launched in India last month with significant upgrades over their predecessors. However, they miss out on 5G connectivity which is an essential feature for potential customers in 2021. Now, replying to a tweet about the Realme 8 series missing out on the latest network connectivity, Realme India’s official support account has confirmed the company indeed has plans to launch Realme 8 5G and Realme 8 Pro 5G in India soon. To recall, THE Realme 8 5G had recently bagged the FCC and BIS certifications, suggesting its imminent launch.

We believe the Realme 8 5G will come with MediaTek Dimensity 700 5G SoC, a 5,000mAh battery, and Android 11 OS with Realme UI 2.0. The phone is said to measure 162.5x 74.8×8.5mm, and weigh around 185 grams. This is all the information we have regarding the Realme 8 5G specifications.

Realme 8 Pro sports a 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a punch-hole cutout for the selfie snapper, 90.8 percent screen-to-body ratio, 2,400 x 1,080 pixels resolution, 180Hz touch-sampling rate, and 1000nits brightness. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G SoC paired with Adreno 618 GPU, up to 8GB LPDDR4X RAM, and 128GB UFS 2.1 internal storage that is further expandable. The phone runs on Android 11-based Realme UI 2.0 out of the box and connectivity features include 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and USB Type-C port for charging and data sync.

The Realme 8 Pro packs a 4,500mAh battery with 50W fast-charging support but the company is bundling a 65W adapter in the box. It has a quad-camera setup at the back with a 108MP (f/1.88 aperture) Samsung HM2 primary sensor with PDAF and 6P Lens, an 8MP (f/2.25 aperture) ultra-wide-angle lens with a 119-degree field of view, a 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP B&W lens. There is a 16MP Sony IMX471 snapper on the front for selfies and video chats and an in-display fingerprint sensor for security.

Realme 8 Pro price in India is Rs 17,999 for the 6GB+128GB model and Rs 19,999 for the high-end 8GB+128GB version. The phone will be available in Infinite Blue, Infinite Black, Illuminating Yellow.

Realme 8 price in India is Rs 14,999 for 4GB+128GB model, Rs 15,999 for the 6GB+128GB variant and Rs 16,999 for the high-end 8GB+128GB option. It comes in Cyber Silver and Cyber Black colours.
