OnePlus Pay India launch could be imminent, trademark filing suggests
OnePlus Pay may launch in India soon as the name has been trademarked in the country. The trademark filing was spotted by tipster Mukul Sharma. While the attached document doesn’t reveal much else about the mobile payments service or its launch timeline, we can speculate it will be a new addition to OxygenOS and the announcement could be coming soon. OnePlus Pay will look to take on current payments giants like Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, and others in the country. OnePlus Pay is currently available in China via the Wallet app and is exclusive to HydrogenOS. This should allow OnePlus users to make mobile payments quickly.

OnePlus Pay launching in India soon?
OnePlus has been expanding its footprint in India over recent years. The brand forayed into the television market a couple of years ago and introduced the OnePlus Band fitness tracker and OnePlus Watch this year. OnePlus Pay is expected to be the next big service from the brand and it will likely launch later this year.
Separately, OnePlus recently revealed that it may soon add ‘Always-On-Display’ on the OnePlus Watch via an OTA update. The smartwatch already brings features like an AMOLED display, Warp Charge, 402mAh battery that is claimed to last up to 14 days, and 5 ATM water-resistance but misses out on ‘Always-on Display’ (AOD). OnePlus agreed that ‘AOD’ has been a much-requested feature but it didn’t find its way to the final product considering the feature may cause a 50 percent increase in power consumption.
The company has said the upcoming OTA update to the OnePlus Watch will allow users to customise the pre-set reply list to instantly reply to messages on the Watch. This isn’t currently available.
