The POCO X3 Pro and POCO F3 have been officially launched, but are yet to make their way to India. While the POCO F3 is a rebranded Redmi K40, the POCO X3 Pro is a new device that will be coming to India on March 30th. Both of these phones offer good value for money with higher mid-range specifications and features. Since the phones come with similar specifications, we thought it would be a great idea to discuss the differences between the two. Let’s take a look at all the differences between the POCO X3 Pro and POCO F3.

POCO X3 Pro vs POCO F3: price

As of now, we only have the international pricing for the POCO X3 Pro and POCO F3. The POCO X3 Pro is priced lower than the POCO F3 as it is slightly less powerful in terms of hardware. The base variant, with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage is priced at EUR 249 (approx Rs 21,500). For the 8GB RAM variant with 256GB storage, you’ll have to shell out EUR 299 (approx Rs 25,800). However, as an introductory offer, the variants will be available for EUR 199 (approx Rs 17,000) and EUR 249 till April 1st. The phone will go on sale in Europe on March 24th.

POCO X3 Pro and POCO F3 launch event today

Coming to the POCO F3, this phone is priced at EUR 349 (approx Rs 30,000) for the variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. The 8GB RAM+256GB variant will be available for EUR 399 (approx Rs 35,000). Once again, POCO has offered discounted prices for customers who purchase the phone between March 27th and April 6th. You can get the base variant for EUR 299, and the 8GB RAM version for EUR 349.

POCO X3 Pro vs POCO F3: design and display

When it comes to the design of the POCO X3 Pro vs POCO F3, there are a lot of differences. From the front, both phones have a centrally located punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera, and similarly sized screens. However, when you turn the phones around, you can immediately tell them apart. The POCO X3 Pro has a circular camera setup and large POCO branding at the back. On the other hand, the POCO F3 has an oval shaped camera module placed on the left side of the back panel. Both the phones use side-mounted fingerprint scanners.

Moving on to the display specifications, both the POCO X3 Pro and POCO F3 offer high refresh rate of 120Hz and FHD+ resolution. The POCO X3 Pro uses a 6.7-inch IPS LCD panel with 240Hz touch sampling rate and 450 nits brightness, whereas the POCO F3 gets a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel with a 360Hz touch sampling rate and brighter screen at 1300 nits peak brightness. The POCO F3 has a better screen in comparison, and should be better for watching videos and gaming.

In terms of specifications, the POCO X3 Pro seemingly offers more value for money. This phone has a quad-rear camera setup, a similarly powerful new processor, a larger battery, and a high refresh rate display. It is equipped with the Snapdragon 860 SoC, which is a slightly tweaked variant of the Snapdragn 855+. This is paired with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB of onboard storage. The phone houses a 5,160mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging technology.

Meanwhile, the POCO F3 has a more powerful Snapdragon 870 chipset, which is also coupled with a maximum of 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. However, the phone does have a smaller 4,520mAh battery, while supporting the same 33W fast charging. You’ll also see differences between the two phones when it comes to optics. 

The POCO X3 Pro comes with a quad-rear camera setup that includes a 48MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and two 2MP sensors. In comparison, the POCO F3 has a triple camera setup at the back. This consists of a 48MP sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 5MP macro unit. Both phones use the same 20MP front-facing camera and run Android 11 based MIUI 12 with the POCO Launcher on top.

POCO X3 Pro vs POCO F3: conclusion

Although there are some differences between the POCO X3 Pro and POCO F3, we would say that you wouldn’t go wrong with either devices. Yes, the POCO X3 Pro costs less and offers more camera options, a larger battery, and an equally powerful chipset. As of now, the POCO X3 Pro is the only phone launching in India, so consumers in the country only have this one option. For those who want a slightly faster chipset and an AMOLED display, the POCO F3 is a good choice for consumers in Europe.
