PS5 India launch date announced officially; pre-orders begin January 12th
The PlayStation 5 (PS5) India launch date has been revealed by Sony India finally, ending months of speculations, anticipation, and rumours. The company took to Twitter to announce that the PS5 India launch date is February 2nd, while pre-orders will begin on January 12th. Retail partners taking pre-orders of the eagerly awaited console include Amazon, Flipkart, Croma, Reliance Digital, Games The Shop, Shop at Sony Center, Vijay Sales, and a few other select retailers. However, supply will likely be low in the initial few weeks. The PS5 India launch is delayed as much as three months considering the console released in the global market on November 12th.

PS5 price in India
The PS5 price in India had been announced already, with the disc version of the console and its Digital Edition set at Rs 49,990 and Rs 39,990, respectively. However, the high demand for the console among gamers in the country and no official word from Sony India led to exorbitant prices in the country’s grey market. The PS5 price in India went as high as Rs 1-1.2 lakh apiece in the grey market, though this is not out of place considering the PS5 price in unofficial channels went up to 3 times more in some countries. However, Sony had been cracking down on such purchases before the launch, officially saying that units purchased before the official release date and via unauthorised sellers will not be covered under warranty.
