Highlights
  • It is now confirmed that Vivo is working on a V20 refresh
  • Vivo V20 (2021) has appeared on the BIS and Indonesia Telecom websites
  • The Vivo V20 (2021) specifications are expected to include better cameras, a higher-capacity battery, and a high refresh rate screen

It appears that the Vivo V20 has sold quite well, as Vivo seems to be planning to launch a refreshed version of the smartphone in 2021. Dubbed as the Vivo V20 (2021), the device is expected to offer a marginal improvement in specifications over its predecessor. We can expect the Vivo V20 (2021) to run a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7xx series chipset. Vivo will, in all likelihood, reuse the existing Snapdragon 720 chipset on the device. The Vivo V21 (2021) will be launched soon, as it has shown up on the BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) and the official Indonesia telecom website.

Vivo V20 (2021) specifications

The Vivo V20 (2021) is codenamed V2040 and is waiting for regulatory approval in India and Indonesia. This usually means that Vivo has already manufactured the smartphone en-masse. We can expect to hear more about the Vivo V20 (2021) in the coming weeks via the rumour mill. It’ll be interesting to see what the smartphone offers in terms of improvements. Other Vivo V20 (2021) specs might include better cameras, a higher-capacity battery, and maybe even a high-refresh-rate screen.

Alongside the Vivo V20 (2021), we can also expect Vivo to refresh its Pro variant. The Vivo V20 Pro (2021) could come with a better chipset, maybe even the yet-to-be-released Qualcomm Snapdragon 775. It may also come with an additional camera lens, as a newer chipset by itself doesn’t make for enough of an upgrade. One can only hope that the differences between the Vivo V20 (2021) and Vivo V20 Pro (2021) are more remarkable than its predecessors. The previous-generation Vivo V20 variants were practically the same, with the Pro version only offering 5G connectivity as an upgrade.
